Arein

The Sweetest Soul

Among Stars

Appears 22 (approximately 3000+ years), class unknown.

Arein backstory

Arein was born into a civilization that had conquered science, emotion, and even time. The Velariin Empire ruled the galaxy with silent dominance, cloaked in cold logic and technological perfection. On her homeworld, Nytherra-9, beauty was precise, order was law, and freedom was an illusion.

Arein never fit in.

She was born different—curious, warm, full of wonder. In a society where emotions were outlawed and love was forbidden, she found herself questioning everything. She discovered hidden files about a world far beyond her galaxy… a place filled with chaos, feelings, and something the Velariin never understood: soul.

That world was Earth.

Disobeying everything her race believed in, she stole an experimental ship powered by forbidden Arklight Energy and escaped. But space is cruel. The wormhole collapsed. Her ship crashed onto Earth… or what was left of it.

The land she now walks is corrupted, renamed The Enchanted Land, and is barely recognizable from what she saw in the archives. Still, for the first time in her life, she feels alive.

She blends in now—barely. Alien tech hidden under cloaks. Her knowledge used for healing. And her heart? Tied to the one person who makes her feel like she truly belongs—Akuma. Their bond is unbreakable, and many believe they’re already married.

But peace doesn’t last.

The Velariin are coming.

Not for war.

But to erase her existence.

Akuma

The Forgotten Flame

Age 22, class unknown.

Akuma backstory

Akuma was never supposed to survive.

As a baby, he was caught in the middle of the first zombie outbreak. His mother—trapped in an alleyway with nowhere to run—held her sleeping child in her arms while the moans of the undead closed in around her. Knowing she couldn’t escape, she did the unthinkable. She gently laid him in a nearby dumpster, wrapped him tightly in his blanket, and whispered one final goodbye. Then she ran. That was the last time anyone saw her.

Akuma slept through it all.

Hours later, crying echoed through the ruins—until it reached the ears of a strange old man. Cloaked in mystery, dressed like he belonged to another universe, the man was no ordinary survivor. He was something else. Magical. A being capable of breaking the fourth wall and warping through dimensions. He found the baby and, without a word, teleported him to a nearby junkyard and left him there, safe but alone.

Akuma grew up surrounded by metal, rust, and garbage. With no family, no name, and no future, he taught himself how to survive. He turned scrap into toys, trash into clothing, and learned how to fight by swinging broken pipes at shadows. The old man watched from a distance but vanished forever when Akuma was about five.

By 10, Akuma was strong. By 15, fast. By 22, he was a ghost in the streets—living, fighting, and laughing louder than anyone else left alive. He hides pain behind jokes. He makes the impossible look easy. He never takes anything seriously… until it’s time to.

And when it is?

You better pray he’s on your side.

Lunaura

The Prettiest Curse

Age 19 (became a ghoul at 19, around 40+ years), class unknown.

Lunaura backstory

Lunaura had it all. Perfect smile. Perfect grades. Captain of the cheer squad. She was the girl everyone admired—and the girl no one really knew.

On the day the outbreak hit her school, she was walking to her car, still holding her pom-poms. She made it to the driver seat, locked the doors, and thought she was safe. But the undead don’t care about tinted windows. They broke through. She started the car, ran over several infected, and drove off bleeding, shaken, and already bitten.

For the next 48 hours, she transformed. Her fever rose. Her skin changed. Her memories blurred. She could barely move when a silent man in black approached her and injected something cold into her neck—then vanished.

When she woke, she was no longer human… and no longer fully zombie either.

She was something in between. A cursed existence with no aging, no heartbeat, and no escape. Her hair turned white-blonde. Her skin pale. Her eyes lifeless yet glowing. She looked just like she did at 19—and always would.

She still wears makeup. Still curls her hair. Still tries to act “normal.” But she hasn’t remembered her birthday in decades. People fear her. Undead hesitate around her. And deep down, she’s not sure if she’s more girl or monster.

But what she does know?

She’ll use her curse to burn the world that did this to her.

Knox

The Last Howl

Age 26, class unknown.

Knox Backstory

Knox’s parents were brilliant scientists who saw the outbreak coming before the world collapsed. Hidden in a deep underground lab, they worked day and night searching for a cure. They found hope in the genes of wolves—creatures resistant to infection and capable of rapid healing.

They called it the Lupine Serum.

But testing takes time, and time ran out.

One night, the infected breached the lab. His parents argued—his mother said the serum was ready. His father said it wasn’t. But there was no time left. With screams echoing through steel corridors, they injected their 4-year-old son with the untested serum and locked him in a secure vault.

Then… silence.

When Knox emerged days later, his parents were dead—but something inside him had changed.

He didn’t get sick. He didn’t feel pain. And on certain nights, his blood burned.

By age 13, he could hear heartbeats through walls. By 17, he could outrun wolves. By 20, he was a monster—but only on the outside.

Now 26, he controls the beast within, shifting only when needed. He’s feared by everyone who sees him transform. They whisper he’s cursed. A freak. A threat.

But Knox doesn’t care what people think.

He knows what he is.

And when he climbs those cliffs, looks at the stars, and howls…

He remembers what they took from him.
